Successful team building – by land and by sea!

Kurtenbach Modellbau GmbH went on a field trip on July 20, 2018. After an opulent breakfast we took a bus to the island of Grafenwerth, where we found preparations had been made for us. First were some team games on land, namely an outdoor Parkour course. Working in groups, we mastered many challenges before building rafts to continue our journey in the water. We built different groups and after a short introduction to knotting we received ropes, buoys and trunks. There were no limits to our creativity. Before we went on the water we were fitted out with life jackets (just in case!) and paddles. Unfortunately we did not achieve the goal of not falling into the water – but no one really minded getting wet, as it was cool and refreshing!
The adventure ended with a delicious evening meal and chilled drinks as well as pleasant conversations.

Siemens NX 10 CAD Training Employees

In order to remain up-to-date in the complex field of design tasks, our members attend training sessions regularly. The latest “NX 10 CAD Basic Training” course, organized by CAE Engeneering und Service GmbH, lasted one week and provided our two employees with basic and advanced knowledge about NX and mechanical engineering.

Two new apprentices

This year we were able to award two (intercultural, integrative) training positions.
The two apprentices started their training period at the “Berufliche Schulen Biedenkopf” on 1 August 2017 and will finish in 2021 after three-and-a-half years as journeymen in the field of “model making with specialization in production model making.”
We are pleased that our team continues to grow!

Additional power for optimal quality: PowerINSPECT workshop

To ensure our computer-assisted quality management is up to date, a three-day workshop was held to instruct our employees in the proper use of our new software for manual measuring devices, in particular Delcam Power Inspect 2013 R1. At the same time, we updated our hardware with the latest equipment. Quality management requires ongoing modernization.

New trainee on the team

We added an office administration trainee to our team on September 1, 2013. After all, we treat our administrative processes with the same precision we bring to our engineering tasks.
